Montana Green Expo Awards
Every year, during the Montana Green Expo, we take time to recognize Montana's green industry professionals for their dedication and industry talent. MNLA members from across the state enter their best work into the Best of Montana Landscape Competition and Container Planting Contests, as well as nominate their peers for membership awards.
The contest entries are judged by industry experts, with winning contestants announced at the annual Awards Banquet during the Montana Green Expo. The winners receive a plaque, announcement in their local newspaper and our social media channels, and bragging rights for the next year! These contests are always a highlight of the Awards Banquet; it's inspiring to see the great work that MNLA members have done!
More information can be found on the entry forms below, or by contacting the office: info@plantingmontana.org
Please join us in congratulating this year's award winners!
lifetime member awardBill Caras, Caras Nursery - Missoula, MT It’s not often that we get to recognize an individual for the extraordinary contributions they have made throughout their lifetime to both the MNLA family and the greater horticulture community. Bill Caras is a most deserving individual, and was nominated for an honorary lifetime membership by long-time MNLA member, Bev Marchie. Congratulations, Bill, and thank you for your dedication and service to the industry! We are proud to have you as a Lifetime Member. |
PAST PRESIDENT RECOGNITIONMatt Watts, MFW Landscapes Matt Watts joined the MNLA Board of Directors in 2019, not knowing what a ride he was in for, as the world shut down the following year during the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the challenges, Matt kept showing up and contributing - and hasn't stopped since. He tells us that over 20 years ago he was told never to call soil "dirt" , for it is the foundation to all that lives above it. This guiding principle has led to learning and growing in sustainable landscape designs, and in supporting education for Montana's entire green industry. In fact, Matt is so committed to his service on the MNLA Board of Directors that he has volunteered to serve another year as President to fill a vacancy on the Board. We appreciate all you have done, and continue to do, for the Association, Matt. Thank you! |
